How do we become professionals that make a difference where we work?

8.But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself (Dan1:8)!

One of the work place models we have seen in the Bible is Daniel. His legacy still lives on.

But there is a secret behind his outstanding success and impact. Someone said that success is a secret, otherwise everybody would successful . Success is a good thing and everyone desires to be successful but only a handful ends up a success.

We have just read in the text one of the elements that contributed to Daniel ‘s success in his workplace in Babylon. Daniel purposed in his heart never to defile himself with all the “unclean” things he found in the , “King’s Political School”!

Daniel knew who he was . Daniel knew that he was an Israelite, he believed in one God of Israel, and he was supposed to be holy according to mosaic law!

He left Israel and he was now in Babylon , but he remained the same regardless of location and position.

For 3 years every body in school ate and drunk whatever was available at their disposal but Daniel because of his faith convictions he ate simple meals.

This man was different and this gave him the moral authority to make the difference wherever he went.

God has positioned us to work in different Workplaces and we all know what kind of evil stuff goes on there which we cannot mention here for lack of space!

Many christians end up compromising the faith, some stand for their faith which lead some to loose their jobs, persecution etc…
But remember that it’s God who have put you in that place of work to be His witness through Christ!

Purpose to be God’s true ambassador regardless of the cost! It’s better to loose a job than loosing holiness! It’s better to loose gold than loosing God! If you loose a job, you have lost nothing but if you loose holiness you have lost all. If you have money without God you have nothing but if you have God without money you have all. God is everything we need, He is our all- sufficiency!

Keep yourself clean in that dirty “work-world”!
