14. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Mtt5:14-16)
This morning a Pastor posted a link about an exhibition going on in Kigali by homosexuals and lesbians. She posted on a group of pastors and many reactions are going on. Many are criticizing the LGBT, while others are criticizing satan.
I would like to use this opportunity to use this issue to speak to myself and the Church at large. Where is the problem? Satan …sinners….? Many evils and vices are running rampage in our times and surely we Should address the source of the problems if we desire to get the solution.
There is the world of the lost but there’s also the Church in this world. God sees both the sinners and His Church. Let God be the judge! Will God judge the sinners or His Church for all the evils going?
I think God’s utmost pain is not for sinners rotting in their mire but the Church that is indulging in the works of darkness other than being the light she ought to be.
Its normal for darkness to be in the world because its under the sway of the evilone but its unnormal and dangerous for darkness to be in the house of light. The problem of the world is the darkness that has entered into the house of God which is meant to be the light of the world.
Let’s first drive out the darkness that is in our hearts, lives, Church and we will have light in our selves, and then we will have the moral and spiritual authority to drive out darkness in the World.
Light is the only weapon the can drive out darkness. When darkness rages light must shine brightest! When light shines brighter darkness fades!
The Church shouldn’t be dreadful of darkness, she should be intensifying her shining. The brighter we shine the weaker and dimer the darkness becomes! The brighter we shine the more multitudes of folks we attract from Darkness.
Jesus said, ” let your light so shine before all men and let them see your good works…“. Jesus said that when men in darkness see our good works (not good words… emphasis mine) they turn to our God and glorify His name!
Its our good works that shines and that attract sinners from darkness and sin. Its not good words but good works!
The Church have fallen in the ditch of becoming simply sweet talkers. The World or sinners are not impressed by our words but works! Our conduct, our behavior, our character etc is what speaks louder than our words! Its not that sinners have not heard but the issue is that sinners have not seen our good works
Our faith in Christ and our life in Christ must become real life and our message to the lost
Talking is so cheap that why we have plenty of talkers in the Church but we have scarcity of true characters of Christ! Talking is not the issue in Christianity the issue is walking the talk!
So let darkness darken in the world but let light shine brightest in the Church and beyond
By the way its getting too dark in the world in our times, therefore its time the Church shine our brightest ever!
