22.So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.
23.They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings (Exo10:22-23).
Israel as a nation was distinct from all other nations of the earth because of the covenant God made with Abraham for purpose of fulfilling His redemptive plan for all humanity through Christ!
God groomed this nation from a family of Jacob that went to Egypt through 400 years. Israel became a nation within the nation of Egypt. It was a state within a state as it’s popularly said.
Israelites were living in Egypt, but they were not Egyptians. They were in Egypt but were not of Egypt.
In the text above, God brought darkness in the whole land of Egypt, such severe darkness for 3 days and nights and no one could see each other. But in the dwellings of the Israelites there was light.
The Church or Christians are living in the world but we are not of the world. They are two categories of people living in this world, that is, the Church of Christ and thw world or unbelievers! The Christians or church are of God (1Jn4:4a) and the unbelievers are of the world (1Jn4:5a).
The whole world or unbelievers are under the sway of the wicked one (1Jn5:19) but the wicked one does not touch us the church because we are children of God 1Jn5:18.
For two years now darkness has ravaged the world since covid stormed the world and there’s turmoil in the world that has shaken every fabric of life in this world. This has caused so much loss of life, pain, hopelessness, anxiety, fear, loss of business and jobs, uncertainty and perplexity world over!!
But Church lets remember that we are still of God in the midst of this chaos. The world is under the sway of satan but the Church is under the sway of the almighty God. Satan is working in the world but God is working in the church. Darkness is raging in the world but light is shining in the church. The world is becoming more darker but the Church is becoming more brighter!
This year the Church of Christ is going to be more brighter than ever because Jesus is about to come for a glorified Church!
Beloved the world does not control us (the church), its heaven that controls us. So don’t miss your shining opportunity in this darkest hour of history.
