12. And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces (2King2:12)!

Elisha saw Elijah’s departure and cried out, “my father, my father”! Elisha saw a father in Elijah, he saw a model , he saw a man of integrity , he saw a godly man with heavenly values, he saw a man with a burden for his Nation. The man he followed was more than just another prophet, he was a father.. Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians and said that they may have thousands of teachers but not many fathers! To the Corinthians Paul was more than a good teacher or preacher but he was a father!

Elijah was more than a prophet in Israel, this man brought revival and transformation in the whole nation. He was a father to the nation of Israel.

We have so many leaders, teachers, pastors by title or positions but the world is crying for fathers .. Fathers have hearts for their nations, cities, communities and their people! Fathers have burdens to see transformation of thier communities. Fathers will do all they can to make their communities and nations become better. Fathers will break the status quo and make a difference for their people. Fathers are selfless. Fathers will sacrifice all for the betterment of their nations, Churches, cities. Fathers never manipulate others for their gain but use all they have for the interest of others!

I here the cry of nations…. Nations world over are crying for fathers! My prayer is that God may give us fathers in our homes, fathers in our churches, fathers in our communities, fathers in our cities, fathers in our nations!!!
