“I know your works…” (Rev2:2).
The Lord Jesus Christ gave John messages for the seven Churches in Asia and each message began with this statement, “i know your works”! The Ephesians had fallen and left the first works Rev2:5 , to another church Jesus said, ” as for your works, the last are more than the first”(Rev2:19) , and again He said to another church that, ” …for I have not found your works perfect before God” (Rev3:2)!
From the Lord’s message to the seven Churches we conclude that “works” are a vital aspect of the Christian life.
Jesus Christ went everywhere doing good (Act10:38) , we are new creations in Christ for doing good works (Eph2:10) , Christians who are rich are told to be rich in good works (1Tim6:17-18)!
We are saved to do good works just as the Bible says about Tabitha, ” At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did (Act9:36)! Tabitha was full of good works…
Imagine what this world would be like if the one billion saved Christians were “full of good works” and “rich in good works”!!! The world would be a true paradise. The reason this World is such a wicked place is because the evil people are rich and passionate about doing evil while the Church is simply watching and poor in good works.
The weapon the church can use to overthrow evil in this world is “doing good”! (Rom12:21)!
Dear ones let’s get back to the basics, let us be rich in good works as God’s beloved children.
