Ministers of Christ
7.as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf (Col1:7)
Christ has appointed and called men and women to build His Church and these are called “ministers of Christ”!
Jesus called 12 disciples and He made them Apostles, and these were Christ’s ministers who were the pioneer builders of His Church when she had just been born on the day of Pentecost. Christ anointed these men and they turned the world upside down.
You cannot talk about the Church of Christ without mentioning the “ministers of Christ”. These ministers of Christ are the ministers of the new covenant, and they minister life by the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the word of God (2Cor3:5-6)!
These ministers of Christ have the divine role of equipping the saints so that the body of Christ will be built (Eph4:11-16)!
These ministers of Christ impart grace upon the saints to enable them to grow and become effective church builders.
Two vital attitudes :
- Ministers of Christ called to the equipping ministry should understand our calling and be committed to equipping the saints with all our hearts , faithfully, and intentionally.
- Saints should be committed to being equipped like the way students are committed to their studies. Honor your Pastors and leaders (ministers of Christ). See what Christ said about His ministers, “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me” (Matt10:40)!
This is how Christ is building His Church!
