Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. (ITim6:17).

The word haughty means blatantly and disdainfully proud : having or showing an attitude of superiority and contempt for people or things perceived to be inferior.

One of the dangers of riches is haughtiness. Wealth is a snare that can destroy your life with pride. Many poor people seem so humble but should one gets rich and the person is completely a different person.. He begin to despise everyone , begin to despise everything…

The Bible says that a rich man answers rudely, why .. its pride. A haughty person treats those he thinks are poor in a rude way.

Haughty people think they are superior and poor people are inferior…. I have seen Christians who used to be members of certain churches while poor and when they got rich they migrate to churches that are not even spiritual but because that is where rich people go! He migrate from the Church where he got blessed from and join a church where the rich and the aristocrats attend. They are haughty and are led by money no longer by the Holy Spirit.

Be warned because when pride leads you then your fall is eminent. I have seen some believers who got rich and begin to despise praying in tongues! I have seen believers getting rich and stop relating with their former colleagues and get new cliques.

Paul asked Timothy to command the rich not to be haughty! Dear Christian worker, God commands you, ” don’t be haughty“!
God fights the proud, so don’t toy with pride

Humble yourself and God will give you grace, and grace will uphold and cause you to enjoy all the blessings of God for His glory.
