The litmus test of the true Christianity
15.“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16.You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17.Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18.A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. (mtt7:15-18).
Jesus gave the analogy in the above text to help us distinguish between false prophets and true prophets, fake christianity and true Christianity! Fruit is the “litmus test”…not miracles , not prophesies , not flamboyance, not articulate talk …! Satanists can prophesy , do miracles , disguise themselves like apostles of light (2Cor11:13-15)!!!! Read it. But satan and his false agents can never fake Christlikeness, they can never fake the fruit of the Spirit, they can never fake holiness.
In other words, fake christians (those who pretend to be), false prophets, false apostles , unbelievers will never pass the test of “fruit”! As they are so are their fruit.
If they are evil , so is their fruit evil. Bad tree , bad fruit! Good tree good fruit. A sinner …sinful fruit, a christian .. Christlikeness.
John stressed it this way, ” He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” (1Jn2:6)!
Everyone who says He abides in Christ , he is a believer, he is saved ought to walk as Christ walked!!
In other words, you cannot be in Christ and Christ in you and you live like the devil!! It’s impossible. Those who are of the devil walk like the devil, and those who are in Christ walk like Christ.
John used a strong language, “we ought to walk as Christ walked”… We must walk us Christ walked if we profess that we abide in Him.
There must be a crystal clear distinction between unbelievers and believers in every aspect , that is , those who are Christ’s must be Christlike and unbelievers devil-like. We must be light and non believers darkness.
